Trading Rules

9 articles

All current F8 Funds programs use Static Drawdown. The maximum-loss boundary remains fixed according to the selected program and account size.

F8 Funds uses the following default simulated platform leverage settings by asset class:

  • Forex: 1:30, with a 100,000 standard lot contract size.
  • Gold (XAUUSD): 1:10, with a 100-ounce contract size.
  • Other Metals: 1:5, with contract size varying by symbol.
  • Indices: 1:20, with a 1 standard index unit contract size.
  • Commodities: 1:5, with contract size varying by symbol.
  • Cryptocurrencies: 1:2, with contract size varying by symbol.

The account base currency is USD. The platform configuration uses Market Execution, a 100% margin call level, a 50% stop out level, and a maximum lot size of 20 lots per trade.

Maximum total exposure is calculated at 0.4 lot per $1,000 of initial account balance:

  • $10,000 account: 4.0 lots.
  • $25,000 account: 10.0 lots.
  • $50,000 account: 20.0 lots.
  • $100,000 account: 40.0 lots.
  • $200,000 account: 80.0 lots.

The limit applies to combined open exposure across all positions. Hedging is permitted with margin 0, while weekend holding is not allowed.

For 1 Step and 2 Step programs, a profitable day requires more than 0.5% profit based on the initial account balance. 1 Step and 2 Step Pro require 3 profitable days, while 2 Step Classic requires 5. The direct-access program requires 4 profitable days, each with more than 0.4% net profit.

The Daily Drawdown resets each day at 04:00 AM GMT+4. Traders should monitor equity and closed profit or loss around the reset time according to the platform calculation.

No maximum trading-day limit currently applies. All other program rules and risk limits remain in effect.

Yes. Expert Advisors (EAs) and automated trading are permitted, provided the strategy complies with all F8 Funds risk limits, platform rules, and prohibited trading behavior policies.

No. Trades may not be held over the weekend. Any positions that are not closed before the weekend market close may be reviewed, and any profit generated from those trades will be removed from the payout and account review calculation.

F8 Funds prohibits any trading activity that is inconsistent with fair trading standards, genuine trading skill, or proper risk management. Prohibited activities include, but are not limited to:

  • Exploiting technical errors, pricing issues, delayed data feeds, abnormal spreads, platform bugs, unrealistic fills, or system latency.
  • Using unauthorized external data sources, high-speed tools, bots, scripts, AI systems, or mass-order methods to create an unfair execution or pricing advantage.
  • Manipulating trades across multiple accounts, including mirrored trades, synchronized trades, opposite positions, cross-account hedging, or coordinated trading between different customers.
  • Sharing, transferring, selling, passing, or allowing any third party to access, manage, or trade the account.
  • Using the same IP address, device, VPS, VPN route, payment method, crypto wallet, identity details, login location, or trading environment across different profiles in a way that indicates account sharing, multi-accounting, identity masking, or coordinated abuse.
  • Using EAs, robots, or algorithms for latency arbitrage, reverse arbitrage, hedge arbitrage, unrealistic tick scalping, mass-copy strategies, or any system-exploitation strategy.
  • Violating Account Review Stage restrictions, including news trading restrictions, minimum holding rules, payout review rules, weekend holding rules, consistency rules, drawdown limits, or any published challenge parameter.
  • Trading with gambling-like behavior, one-sided betting, excessive risk concentration, all-in style exposure, extreme martingale behavior, or relying on a single random market move instead of a repeatable strategy.
  • Exploiting price gaps, quote errors, thin liquidity, rollover periods, market open/close conditions, public holidays, or abnormal volatility periods to generate unfair profits.

F8 Funds reserves the right to review, restrict, reject payouts, remove profits from violating trades, reduce profit share, suspend, or terminate accounts when prohibited trading activity is detected.

No. For 1 Step and 2 Step programs, the rule begins only after the evaluation is completed and the account enters the Account Review Stage for payout review.

Any amount above the selected program’s maximum profit per withdrawal is excluded from that payout review. The applicable limits are listed under Payouts & Profit Split.

A breach of the daily drawdown or maximum loss limit may result in the account being failed or terminated according to the applicable program rules.

News, Holding & Soft Breaches

News trading is permitted during Phase 1 and Phase 2 of 1 Step and 2 Step evaluations. During the Account Review Stage, including direct-access accounts, trading is restricted from 5 minutes before until 5 minutes after a related High-Impact (Red) event listed on the FXStreet Economic Calendar. Medium-Impact (Orange) events are not restricted. Profit from a violating trade may be removed, and the violation may count as a soft breach.

The restriction applies during the Account Review Stage. A trade opened or closed within the restricted window may be treated as a soft breach, and any resulting profit may be removed from the payout calculation.

Yes. During the Account Review Stage, a trade held for less than 3 minutes may be treated as a soft breach. Any profit from that trade may be removed from the payout calculation.

If an account has 3 soft breaches, the trader’s profit share may be reduced by 50%. If an account has 6 soft breaches, the account may be terminated.

Restricted jurisdictions include the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, Belgium, France, Germany, the Netherlands, and any country, region, person, entity, wallet address, payment source, or account subject to sanctions, restrictions, payment-provider limitations, platform-provider limitations, compliance review, or fraud-prevention requirements.

If an active 1 Step or 2 Step funded-stage account is breached, email support@f8funds.com to request review of another qualified account in the waiting queue. Activation remains subject to compliance checks and approval.

If no trading activity is recorded on the account for 30 consecutive days, the account will be terminated due to inactivity. Traders are responsible for maintaining regular account activity and monitoring their account status.

The same IP address, device, VPS/VPN route, payment method, trading environment, or unusually similar trading activity across different customer profiles may be treated as a sign of multi-accounting, account sharing, account passing, identity masking, or coordinated abuse. Multiple traders from the same household, office, or shared network should contact support before trading so the situation can be reviewed. F8 Funds may request additional verification, reject payout, suspend access, terminate connected accounts, or ban users if suspicious overlap is detected.
